I can't believe it has taken me this long to make another post on my blog! I have been extremely blessed to have a ton of Christmas orders to fulfill for my wonderful customers! Because of this I have a story to share with you all. As I was growing up, I always worked with my mom, dad and grandmother in a restaurant. I started off only being allowed to wash dishes. I was so young, I had a step stool so I could reach! LOL Even at a very young age, I wanted to cook and man the cash register... Read More Over and over I would get the, you are not old enough yet. Finally, my grandmother(the one who taught me all these delicious recipes) took me by the hand and step stool to the cash register. Here she taught me how to ring up the customers and count their change back. I was probably only 7 years old at the time. People made funny faces at first, but quickly realized that I was serious at my job and I actually gave them the correct change! I now have a daughter of my own, she is 8. She has been bugging me to help out with the business and I find myself telling her the same words,"you are not old enough yet!". Well, this past Sunday I had to ask her for help! I had 85 cupcakes to box up and package in gift bags and of course was running way behind. I called her down and told her that I needed her help. She dove right in and my sweet girl boxed up each cupcake and put them in the gift bags. She even tied a bow on each bag! She did all 85 by herself! I have never been so proud of her and it still brings tears to my eyes! I also loved how she shouted to me from the dining room, "Mom, we have a business here!".
Traditions..... this is what makes this business so special to me and now I can pass on all that my mom and grandmother taught me to my children. I can already see that my daughter will be following in my footsteps and I could not be more happy!
