Since the beginning of the bakery we have sold our amazing pound cake by the loaf. Over the years we have added onto the pound cake flavors to expand beyond our traditional butter pound cake. Our gingerbread, eggnog, cranberry orange and almond amaretto are some of my favs! Now by themselves, these pound cakes are world changing..... but using these pound cakes to make French Toast?? Now this is what may be needed for world peace. Seriously, why haven't we done this sooner!? One of our customers came in this week and told us that she used our pound cake to make French Toast for her family. So of course we had to give it a try! This is a recipe that literally can make your day brighter!
Our first test batch was with our Eggnog Pound Cake. Absolutely amazing!! So swing by and grab a pound cake loaf and treat yourself and your family to the best French Toast EVER! Step 1: Slice your pound cake into slices(about 1 inch thickness) and set aside. Step 2: In a small bowl, mix 3 eggs, 1 tbs cinnamon, and 1/4 cup whole milk. *you can substitute 2% Step 3: Dip the pound cake slices so that egg mixture covers both sides and place them on your skillet. Toast both sides and then serve with maple syrup or just sprinkle with powdered sugar. Enjoy!

We just celebrated Christmas with our families and blinked... now it's mid-Jan! 2024 is off to a fast start! Time does fly, so take some time now to plan a little sweet treat for you and the kids this Valentine's... Really any day is perfect for breakfast in bed, but February gives us an excuse to spoil our loved ones a little extra! We found the most adorable heart shaped waffle maker on Amazon (link below) and knew we had to create a fun and delish breakfast in bed for Heart Day! We used our homemade pancake mix (sold in the bakery), but you could use any boxed pancake mix. They were so easy to make and even Blakely helped to make them! Add in some chocolate eclairs (my absolute favorite pastry), dipped strawberries and a can of whip cream and you have yourself a Bed Night (that's what we call our jammies! lol) Party Extravaganza! Now, I don't encourage all white bedding like Kaylyn has for said Bed Night Party, but she is brave like that!
