Since the beginning of the bakery we have sold our amazing pound cake by the loaf. Over the years we have added onto the pound cake flavors to expand beyond our traditional butter pound cake. Our gingerbread, eggnog, cranberry orange and almond amaretto are some of my favs! Now by themselves, these pound cakes are world changing..... but using these pound cakes to make French Toast?? Now this is what may be needed for world peace. Seriously, why haven't we done this sooner!? One of our customers came in this week and told us that she used our pound cake to make French Toast for her family. So of course we had to give it a try! This is a recipe that literally can make your day brighter!
Our first test batch was with our Eggnog Pound Cake. Absolutely amazing!! So swing by and grab a pound cake loaf and treat yourself and your family to the best French Toast EVER!
Step 1: Slice your pound cake into slices(about 1 inch thickness) and set aside.
Step 2: In a small bowl, mix 3 eggs, 1 tbs cinnamon, and 1/4 cup whole milk. *you can substitute 2%
Step 3: Dip the pound cake slices so that egg mixture covers both sides and place them on your skillet. Toast both sides and then serve with maple syrup or just sprinkle with powdered sugar. Enjoy!
